A little less to enter

Choose your way to add.

Double tap to enter an expense, log a supported new purchase, or choose transactions from Wallet. Each has its own setup.

Double tap → Quick Add

Two taps on the back of your iPhone open a form. You choose the amount and save the expense yourself. No download is needed for this setup.

  1. Choose a Book in Pennyhush. Open Settings → Set up double tap.
  2. Open Pennyhush’s shortcuts. Create a shortcut using Open Pennyhush Quick Add and name it Pennyhush Quick Add. If needed, open Shortcuts → + and search the actions for Pennyhush.
  3. Open iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → Double Tap. Select the shortcut you saved. Pennyhush’s Open iPhone Settings button starts at its app settings; go back to the main Settings list to follow this path.
  4. Return to Pennyhush and tap the back of your iPhone twice. Enter an amount, optionally choose a tag or take a receipt photo, then save.

Try Quick Add now in the app opens the same form, but does not test the physical gesture. Back Tap requires a supported iPhone. Read Apple’s Back Tap guide.

Apple Pay → Log a new purchase

Install Pennyhush first. This shortcut handles supported transaction triggers; it does not read your Wallet history.

  1. Save a destination. Open Settings → Log Apple Pay purchases → Add destination. Enter a card nickname, choose a Book and its payment account, then tap Save destination. If a Book or account is unavailable, choose an available one first.
  2. Add the shortcut. Download the file below and open it on your iPhone. If it stays in Safari’s downloads, open Files → Downloads. Add it to Shortcuts and choose your saved destination in Pennyhush’s Add Expense action.
  3. Connect your card. In Shortcuts, open Automation → + → Transaction. Select your card and choose Run Immediately where offered. Add Run Shortcut, choose the downloaded shortcut, and pass the transaction as Shortcut Input. Use a separate copy for each card and destination.
  4. Check the next purchase. Return to Automations in Pennyhush and look for Last received under the destination. Open Purchases to review if details are missing, then confirm and save.

Downloading does not save a destination or install an automation. Running the shortcut without transaction input is not a purchase test. Missing currency waits for review unless you explicitly choose the Book’s currency; only enable that when appropriate for the card. Device authentication may be required.

Wallet → Choose purchases to import

This flow uses Apple’s purchase picker directly inside Pennyhush. You do not need a shortcut.

  1. Open Settings → Import purchases from Wallet. Choose the Book and payment account where you want the entries.
  2. Tap Choose purchases from Wallet and select the transactions to share. If the option is unavailable, the screen explains account and region requirements.
  3. Check your selection and send the purchases to review. Only booked card purchases are eligible here; pending charges, transfers, repayments and refunds are excluded.
  4. Open Review purchases on the same screen. Confirm each amount, currency and destination, then Save expense. Balances change only when you save.

Apple currently supports eligible U.S. Apple Card, Apple Cash and Savings accounts and eligible connected U.K. accounts. A card working with Apple Pay does not mean its history is available through FinanceKit. Automatic account syncing is not available in this version. Check Apple’s supported accounts.
